How did you hear about Badfic?:Signore KinkypatchRed let me in on this little gem ;’)
IC Information
Character Name: Giotto
Name that appears on plaque: Vongola Primo
Character Journal:
ilgrandecielo
Canon: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Point in Canon: Chapter 346 and onwards!!
Age: 100+ (25 or so for looks though)
Birthday: January 25
Appearance: Pictures are always better at explaining things than I am.
Abilities:
Personality: Giotto is a calm and collected leader who cares for his family, friends, and acquaintances alike; he’s willing to protect them at any cost, and this can be seen from his forming of the Vongola, originally a vigilante group—he wanted to protect people from harm.
He’s persistent, pursuing what he believes is the right thing to do for everybody’s sake, even if it may be wrong to others within his famiglia. He’s soft in nature, an unfortunate trait that led to betrayal by one of his guardians, Daemon Spade; however, Giotto doesn’t hold grudges, and has forgiven him for his past deeds. Primo is very accepting of people, this being evident from the various backgrounds of his guardians.
Strengths: With the help of his abilities, he is easily able to trump enemies in combat—Giotto is more lithe than he is strong (physically speaking, at least), but his skill makes up for it as well as his speed. Also quite astute, Giotto was able to see through Spade’s plot to eradicate the Shimon famiglia and managed to save Cozart in time.
He’s a very strong and capable leader, having created one of the strongest mafia families of their time for the sake of protecting people. Since he’s so loyal to his companions, once you’ve befriended him it’s pretty hard to sever the bond.
Weaknesses:Lmao what weaknesses bitch I’m perfect As stated before, Giotto has a very soft nature—at one point during his rule as the Vongola boss, he disbanded his military forces in fear of the Vongola falling to fight battles for petty things like self-interest. This was a bad move, because the Vongola became open to attack by rivaling families. The families attacked, and one of the Vongola’s members, one who Daemon Spade loved, died—thus leading to his betrayal.
Let’s not forget the beautiful fact that Giotto will be technologically impaired, and it might take him a while to get used to all of the new gadgets and gizmos lying about.
History: Primo started the Vongola family at a very young age (around 14-17) after he became sick of people in his hometown getting beat up by thugs who ran rampant. Cozart, a good friend of his whom he met some time ago, suggested he start a vigilante group, which in turn became the start of the Vongola. The Vongola became a powerful force over the years, strong enough to amass plenty of territory and defend it in all-out battles with rivaling mafia families.
As stated in the weaknesses portion, Giotto broke up his military forces after fearing for his family fighting for the wrong purposes. After Daemon Spade’s betrayal, Primo sealed away the true power of the Vongola rings, not trusting what the family would become after he retired. And retire he did, but not before dividing the Vongola’s power further: after choosing his successor, Ricardo, he worked with Alaude to create CEDEF, a secret intelligence agency that would work as the Vongola’s external advisor for years to come.
First Person Sample: [The video feed turns on to the sight of a desk and a few mumbled words in Japanese. Clicks and beeps can be heard from the phone, a clear sign that whoever was broadcasting was still messing around with the phone. This goes on for a minute or two before a mechanical voice sounds from the phone, and the feed flickers for a bit.
Ah, so you speak English then?
[The view turns slowly, rotating from the desk to Giotto’s face. His eyes are wide in awareness and his lips are pursed curiously as he stares intently at the Blackberry’s back. Again he falls silent, but this silence remains for naught but a few seconds.
Che cosa? What is…a ‘charger’?
[His brows furrow as he stares a bit longer at the device, turning it around so that the feed resumed its showing of the bland desk. A couple of beeps later and still no progress.]
What an odd device.
[
Shutting down...oh. That means—
[The feed blacks out and cuts Giotto off mid-sentence. Damn.]
Third Person Sample: It’s been a few minutes since Giotto awoke in this unfamiliar room, but already he’d gotten himself familiar with the objects in the room—his gauntlet and I-Gloves were placed on an end table, he found, and his cloak was folded neatly atop the nearby dresser. He got over his initial shock of being alive quite quickly, and began thinking of reasons why he would be in an unfamiliar room with his weapons in tow.
Maybe everything that happened, including his life in Japan and helping out his descendant in recent battles, was just a dream?
“That’s a good one.” Giotto’s lips twitch in amusement and he shakes his head afterward. He couldn’t have been kidnapped or anything—what kind of captors let their victims tote their weapons around? Not even an insanely strong person would do that. Illusions were out of the question as well; his Hyper Intuition lay dormant and unbothered, a clear sign that nothing fishy was going on. Clearly Primo would have to leave this room and find out for himself where he was. That is…if he could leave his room. He grabs his gloves from the table and slips them on easily before approaching the door. His fingers curl against the doorknob and he stops briefly before turning it, cautiously pushing the door open to avoid any unnecessary creaking.
Once the door is open enough, Giotto slips out into the hall and scans the area. Nothing but more doors, and a few have plaques while others do not. He turns back towards his door and gives it a onceover—and there it is, a plaque that clearly read ‘Vongola Primo’. “It seems someone intends for me to stay here.” He did not know if that was a good thing or a bad thing. Who were they, and how were they able to bring him back to life? His weapons, too—they were buried away with him, so the only possible way to obtain them would have been to dig them out of his grave. The thought of somebody digging out his corpse and possessions wasn’t very pleasant, unfortunately, and Giotto found himself frowning before he could process how he felt about that.
This was going to be a long day of exploration, it seemed.
Links: Here’s his wiki page!!
Notes: I’ll be popping out the occasional Italian in dialogue, but nothing fancy or anything \o/
Bonus: I’ve been RPing Giotto for two years and a few months now and I hope to keep it up!! He’s just one of those characters that I can’t let go of (because he’s my baby and dude who doesn’t want a piece of the primo gen???).

Abilities:
- Giotto has various weapons—the most popular being his I-Gloves, which are able to ignite his dying will flames, and can be used as an impetus. Unlike Tsuna, Giotto seems to be able to enter Hyper Dying Will mode at will.
- Hyper Intuition, a blood trait passed down through the Vongola bosses, is a ‘sixth sense’ that allows Giotto to see through things (falsities, upcoming attacks, etc). He has the ability to seal Hyper Intuition away in another user, as he did once with Tsuna.
- His Mantello is the black cloak that he wears; it emanates sky flames and has the ability to nullify certain attacks.
- Giotto has a technique called the Zero Point Breakthrough. It’s a move that encases his opponent in ice that can only be melted by Dying Will flames.
